What To Expect With Wild Hour Photography
Before you book, I want you to have a real feel for how I work and what a session with me is like - so you can decide if it’s the right fit for you.
In my shoots, there’s no pressure to pose perfectly or “perform” for the camera. Instead, I’ll guide you with prompts and movements so you can interact naturally - laughing, exploring, and just being yourselves.
My work is all about emotion, connection, fun and storytelling. That means we’ll likely move around a lot, embrace the environment, and lean into whatever makes your session feel real and personal to you. We won't be thinking about the camera!
Please note I cannot secure your date without a deposit, and your date may go to someone else. I shoot all types of weather; wind, rain, sunshine - we embrace all the UK's weather has to offer!
Frequently asked questions
What is a session with you like?
Expect something fun, a little adventurous. We might be walking, running, dancing, or simply slowing down and taking in the moment together. If it’s windy, we embrace it. If it’s busy with people, we work around it. If it rains… we make magic with it. You don’t need to worry about “what to do” - I’ll guide you throughout. If there are children or infants I might ask you to run around with them, pick them up, cuddle, tickle and go exploring! To keep the shoot flowing in an adventurous storytelling way I don't show you the camera roll, but I'm happy to take BTS with my phone.
Do you help with clothing?
You wear what feels like you but you'll get a clothing guide linked into your post-booking guide. Sessions are often a little playful and outdoorsy, so I recommend wearing outfits you can run around in, lift your arms up or sit on the floor.
Locations and planning?
I’ll guide you through a route that allows us to make the most of the setting, light, and atmosphere. If you have ideas, preferences, or inspiration, I always love to hear them. I need to know the precise location of where the shoot is before we book. It is sometimes hard for me to change the location of your shoot due to other planned shoots on the same day, if this arises please give me plenty of notice and be prepared for your shoot time/date to change! Travel fees may also incur.
What happens if it rains?
I lovvvee the rain! It makes for the most beautiful photos. I don't reschedule due to weather unless it's super stormy and unsafe. Please check the forecast and be ready to embrace the UK to the fullest, wet hair and all! I need to reschedule/cancel?
If you need to reschedule I will work with you to find a new date, if this cannot be found then it will be classed as a cancellation. Please note the new date might be a few months ahead of our original date due to my availability. If you need to cancel, as stated per your contract, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within 2-weeks of the session, no fees are returned. If you've booked a mini-session these are non-refundable. If you have booked a "no-travel fee" shoot because I am already in the area, these shoots cannot be rescheduled.
What about editing?
My style is cinematic and carefully crafted in post-production. I don't edit people's faces or bodies, but I can remove blemishes. I don't give out RAW photos or extra photos. Your final gallery is what you get! Delivery usually takes around 2-4 weeks. You get 40-50 photos per hour.
Do I need a permit?
Most public areas do not need a permit, like streets and public rights of way but If the area is privately owned, it is likely that you do. Areas in London often require permits and range from £50-300. Any permit must be paid for by yourselves upon booking. It is advised to get permits 1-2 months prior to shooting.
How do I secure a date for a session?
In my initial email, I’ll share the dates I currently have available. To secure one of these, I’ll need confirmation of both the time and the exact location of your shoot (for example, Camber Sands Beach).
Once those details are confirmed, I’ll send over a private booking form tailored specifically to your session. This will include a contract to sign, a few details to complete, and the retainer fee as the final step. As soon as I’ve received your completed form and retainer, I’ll confirm everything with you and your booking will be officially secured.
Please note that I’m unable to hold a date without a confirmed location, signed contract, and retainer fee. Dates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may be booked by another client if these are not confirmed and secured in a timely manner.
Can I send you a moodboard?
Of course you can! I have a pinterest board (here) full of my work to help put a board together. My own pictures are preferred but other photographers’ work is also acceptable if it matches my style and editing. Please do not use AI.
